This milestone isn’t just a celebration of longevity but a testament
to AI Architects’ ability to grow,
innovate, and lead in an ever-changing world, making it a significant moment in the firm’s
history and the broader architectural community.
Since my arrival to Canada, I decided to pursue the Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) certification to obtain my license to practice architecture in Canada. The program provided a well-structured and transparent path that recognized my international experience while ensuring alignment with Canadian professional standards.
The BEFA process was thorough yet fair. Preparing my dossier allowed me to reflect on my career accomplishments and organize my projects in a clear, evidence-based format. The interview phase was an excellent opportunity to discuss my work and demonstrate my understanding of professional practice in the Canadian context.
Earning my BEFA certification and becoming a licensed architect with the OAA in 2024 marked an important milestone in my career. It opened new opportunities for professional growth and allowed me to contribute more fully to projects in Ontario.
For those considering the BEFA route, my advice is to approach the process with patience and attention to detail. Take time to carefully document your experience and connect it to the Canadian competency framework. The effort is well worth it the certification validates your professional journey and strengthens your confidence as an architect in Canada.
Good Luck
