Anwar El Irany is a Canadian architect originally from Beirut, Lebanon. He began his architectural journey in Lebanon, graduated in 2000 with a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture – INBA. His early career in Lebanon was shaped by a deep appreciation for cultural heritage, urban form, and the everyday needs of communities.
Eager to expand his knowledge and adapt to new contexts, Anwar continued his education at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). This experience allowed him to refine his design approach, blending traditional influences with contemporary practices grounded in sustainability and innovation.
Since moving to Canada, Anwar has built a successful career in architecture, contributing to a wide range of projects—from institutional and religious buildings to urban renovations and adaptive reuse developments. He is a licensed architect with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA).
Anwar’s multicultural background, educational depth, and hands-on experience in both Lebanon and Canada give him a unique architectural voice—one that bridges tradition, modernity, and community-centered design.
